New Liberty Co. candidate files intent; 2 more come forward in Calhoun

Incumbent Roger Reddick has added his name to the list of candidates in the upcoming Liberty County election. He filed his intent to run on April 4 and will seek another term as the District 5 Liberty County School Board member.

Those who have also made known their plans to run include:

•Incumbent Liberty County Commissioner for District 4, Davis Stoutamire

•Jason Singletary and Bo Sanders, who are challenging Davis for his commission seat

•Kyle Peddie will seek re-election to the District 4 spot on the Liberty County School Board.

•Tony Anderson, who was appointed by the governor to fill the remaining term of Liberty County School Superintendent, will run for that office in the upcoming election.

In Calhoun County, Earl Hunt is running for the District 2 Calhoun County Commission seat currently held by Darrell McDougald.

Incumbent Calhoun County School Board member Kelly King, who represents District 2, will seek another term.

Other incumbents who have filed their intent to run again include Calhoun County District 5 School Board member Danny Hassig, District 4 County Commissioner Willie T. Grant and District 3 School Board member Timothy Smith.

Challengers in the upcoming election include:

•Dennis L. Jones and Clifford Jackson, who are both running for the District 4 County Commission seat

•Robert Pickron, who is running for the District 3 School Board position.

•Clifford Edenfield is seeking the District 2 seat on the Calhoun County Commission currently held by Darrell McDougald.

Qualifying week is noon June 16 through noon June 20. The primary will be held Aug. 26, with an early voting period set Aug. 11 – 23. The general election is Nov. 4, with early voting from Oct. 20 – Nov. 1.
