In celebration of Manufacturers Month, Rex Lumber in Bristol opened its doors to Liberty County High School Wednesday, Nov. 19 for a tour of the facility, along with LCHS Welding instructor, Mickey Larkins.
The students toured the sawmill and learned about optimization, about the efficiency of the continuous kilns and the automation of the planer mill. The students also learned about the job opportunities available right here in Liberty County. Lots of questions were asked and it was a great tour for all!
The tour was coordinated through Northwest Florida Manufacturers Council, of which Rex Lumber is a member. NWFMC is a recently formed association that is focused on connecting businesses and educators to develop curriculums that provide skills needed by area employers.
