One woman was seriously injured and two others were hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Hoecake Road in Bristol Friday afternoon.
A 2008 Nissan Altima was traveling north on Hoecake Road around 4:46 p.m. when the driver, identified as 21-year-old Terryal Lamar Jenkins, lost control of the car in a curve, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
After traveling onto the east shoulder, Jenkins overcorrected by steering sharply to the left, causing the car to slide sideways while rotating counter-clockwise, the FHP report stated.
The car went from the northbound lane, across the southbound lane and onto the west shoulder of the road, where it hit a brick mailbox support and a driveway culvert.
The car overturned onto its right side, coming to rest in the driveway of 14239 Hoecake Road.
Passenger Allana Nicole Carroll, 29, of Bristol, was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Jenkins, and a second passenger, Destiny Love Wise, 17, of Bristol, were both taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
None of the car’s occupants were wearing a seatbelt.
The wreck was investigated by FHP Trooper D.E. Revell. Charges are pending.
The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Liberty County EMS and Bristol Fire Department assisted at the scene.
