For the past several years, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office has assisted in organizing the campaign “Angels for Liberty” to help ensure residents of Liberty County have an enjoyable and memorable Christmas. We have been actively soliciting donations for the past few months. Despite our efforts, it appears that we still need help to meet the needs of the hundreds of applications with requests for toys, clothing, electronics and bicycles.
A review of all the applications submitted for help indicates that our most costly request has been for bicycles. In an effort to try and fill that request, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a fundraiser, ‘Cops for Kids Chicken Pilau’, on Monday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. (ET) under the shelter behind the sheriff’s office. Plates consisting of chicken and rice, green beans, cole slaw, bread and dessert will be sold for $6. Delivery of orders of five or more will be available.
We would greatly appreciate the community’s support in this endeavor. If you are unable to make it out on Dec. 15 and would like to make a donation, please contact Lt. Darrell Johnson, Victim’s Advocate at (850) 447-2219 and he will arrange a time to meet you.
Please come join us in raising funds to purchase bicycles for the needy children in Liberty County. We thank you in advance for your support of our efforts and look forward to seeing you on Dec. 15.
