What started out as just another recreation baseball season for a group of local kids has ended in something far more special, the title of state champions in Florida Dixie Youth Baseball.
This group of young boys went up against six teams this past week (July 18th-22nd) in Carrabelle, vying for the B division state title at the 2015 Florida Dixie Youth AAA (10U) state baseball tournament. They sealed the deal in their final game of the tournament on Wednesday night with a 6-5 victory over a tough DeSoto County team. Their heart, dedication and teamwork paid off and they were able to capture the 2015 AAA Division B Dixie Youth Baseball State Champion title!
The boys and their coaches certainly represented Blountstown and Calhoun County well. We are all so proud of these boys, and their achievements along their journey. These young men have accomplished something they will never forget, and hopefully they will continue playing baseball in the future and bring home another state championship someday!
